Welcome to this issue of the Messenger. The St. John XIII Stewardship Commission works to highlight some of the many ways people are actively living out Christ’s message of love and service in our faith community. This month we would like to highlight the Home and School Association. Stewardship Commission
St. John XXIII Home & School Association
We are parents building community in service.
The Home & School Association is the parent organization at St. John XXIII Catholic School. We aim to foster an atmosphere that encourages school spirit and a sense of community through volunteerism and fundraising. The mission of Home & School is to act as a liaison between school staff and administrators, school parents and the parish community while enhancing the education for our children.
We oversee three distinct areas and sponsor a number of programs and activities. These three areas are: fundraising, events in the community and school family activities. Some of these events include the Raffle Calendar and Flower Sale fundraisers, joining in the Soles for Catholic Education walk, participating in the Christmas Parade, Teacher Appreciation, Mother/Son Bowling and the Father/Daughter Dance, just to name a few. Many of these events offer our school community the unique opportunity to bring students, parents, teachers, staff, parishioners and members of the community the chance to grow together.
Home & School meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the St. Mary’s campus library. These are open to everyone! Want to learn more and meet new people? Come join us for a meeting. Want to give back to your community? Consider volunteering a bit of your time for one of our many events. Want to know how else you can help? Call our school office or watch the bulletin to support our upcoming events. The success of all these activities, events and our school are only possible because of the dedicated support of people like you. Thank you to all who gave so generously of your time, talent and treasure
The Christmas season has passed and life has settled back into our winter rhythms. As Lent looms before us, please take time to reflect on how fortunate we are and remember to support our Food Pantries, St. Vincent De Paul, and St. Ben’s, all very important missions of our Parish. As we give, so shall we receive.
