Oct 24, 2018

Welcome to this issue of the Messenger. The St. John XXIII Stewardship Commission works to highlight some of the many ways people are actively living out Christ’s message of love and service in our faith community. This month are pleased to share this article from the Welcoming Committee.                                            Stewardship Commission

Greetings from the Welcoming Committee!

As a sub-committee of the Stewardship Commission, our focus is to enhance the welcoming presence of our parish community. You will recognize us during the Hospitality Weekends where we are known for donuts on Sunday and wine & cheese on Saturday after Masses! We are also present for various social activities throughout the year where we hope that aside from the social gathering, these events help new members feel like they have a parish family to gather and celebrate with. One of our goals this year is to invite other parish ministries to host Hospitality Weekend as a means of getting to know who our parish leaders and volunteers are so that others will feel encouraged to join in a ministry or service that interests them. We also are working on ways to refresh our efforts to welcome new members whether individuals or families, young adults or seniors. We want any family or individual to feel like St. John XXIII Parish is a place they want to gather and grow in faith!

We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (September-June) at 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. We sure could use your help to grow our welcoming presence at our parish! Call, or join our next meeting if you have an interest in socializing and smiling. We also need the help of those who have skills in communications or interior design, nutrition or culinary arts. Contact Maria at 414-333-0801 for dates and location of future meetings.

Thank you to all who gave so generously of your time, talent and treasure

October was a very busy month! Thank You to all who provided prayer gatherings; participated and supported fundraisers for our parish, school and outreach programs; those who set up, cooked, served and cleaned up at our parish community events; and those who reached out to anyone who could not attend these events. St. Francis of Assisi calls us to evangelize, and sometimes use words. We are blessed with so many friends and family members who donated their gift of stewardship this past month.

Do you want to remember someone?

Don't' forget there are several ways celebrate personal intentions all year long. There are weekly Masses and prayer intentions, the 7-day Remembrance Candle and Bell Tower chimes at our St. Peter's site, and the steeple lights at     St. Mary's site. It's a great way to invite others to pray with us.
