Each archdiocesan parish is an independent religious corporation established according to the Civil Statutes of the State of Wisconsin. Our new Corporation will be established on July 1, 2016. The Directors of the Corporation board are: The Archbishop, the Vicar General of the Archdiocese, the Pastor and two lay trustees. The pastor holds the position of vice-president; the lay-trustees serve as treasurer and secretary and the Archbishop is president. Qualifications to be a parish trustee: Practicing Catholic registered in the parish (or as of this writing—registered in one of our three parishes) and at least 25 years old. Trustees are elected for a two-year term. The Archbishop as president of the Corporation has the right to approve or disapprove any lay trustee elected by the parish. One trustee is designated Trustee-Treasurer and the other as the Trustee-Secretary. Trustees are ex-officio members of the parish pastoral council and may be appointed by the pastor to serve on the finance council. More next week!
